I have an ad on Craigslist. If I go in and modify/edit it, will that move it up to a newer date? Or do I have to place it in again to have it show up newer? Spam even there. One guy wants me to go to his web--no way!, an another wants to give me a free 60 inch TV. No wonder the internet is over loaded.

Not sure about the date update, but the scamers are somethting else. I was try'n to give away a litter of stary pups a few months ago on cragslist and I kept getting folks who wanted to drive 1,000+ miles for a free mut pup if I would just give them my full name and adress so they could find my house with the GPS in the car. Had 6 or 7 folks like that. One lady got real rude.

Modifiy it, it will remain the same date, you will need to delete it and start over if you want to update it.

I give my phone number and no e-mail this cuts the scammers out. the don't like to call you with Caller ID now-a-days. Haven't had any bad calls either.

Does anyone know the point of those guys? Names, addresses and phone numbers are as close as your phone book, so what's the deal with that?

They charge for "help wanted"/"employment wanted" adds. The free clasifieds are their way of attracting traffic to the site. I've had good luck buying and selling. I never post email, just phone number. As mentioned, caller ID discourages bogus callers for the most part.

Scammers are everywhere, Craigslist is no worse or no better than anywhere else. I've put things in my front yard with a for sale sign and attracted people trying to run a con.

If You will send all your pertinents information I will be glad to be halping You. LOL

Go to Wikipedia and type in "craigslist". It explains it fairly well.

If your add is about to expire, all you need to do is highlite your add. There are a few ways to do this. The best way is to hold the left mouse down and drag the cursier over your add. Then push control, ctrl, and the letter C. That is the old way to copy something. Then delete your old add and begin a new one. Go to where you want to input your add and hit control and the letter V. Old way to paste something. Only leave your phone # or you will get spammed. Hope this works for you.
