Dear lads
On my 1982 deutz 60hp loader tractor the brakes always stay on unless I use my hands and pull back the petal how can I fix this? So far I have added a new return spring and still nothing please help also there is dry brakes on the tractor

Take the pedal off the pivot first, buff it up, then lube it. If you lube it with the rust and crud still in place, results won't be as wonderful as you had hoped.

What model do you have? I just fixed one that was doing that for a long time had to take the brake cam out and clean the shaft ,shoe brakes.
I think all the 60 hp are disc brakes disconnect the rod and see where its sticking at

dear Kstractor it is a D4507 it has shoe brakes.
what do you mean when you said brake cam? you have to clean both sides?

The last 1 I was working on was a 6240 about the same as a 4507 it was binding where the brake shaft goes into the backing plate. There is a bronze bushing in the casting there.I took the wheel and brake drum off pulled the shaft out ,cleaned and polished it drilled and taped the outer support installed a grease fitting and now it works good .The first 5 years of its life this tractor spent swimming in pig exhaust.
Where are you located?

dear kstractor
thanks for all of your help I will try to fix it first thing tomorrow, framing in a door in the barn today.
I am located up in Ottawa the Capital of Canada
have a good day everyone
