muffler on a farmall m

Does anyone know the correct outlet size for a muffler on a farmall m ? I have heard a coupler of size's and I would like to know what it was out of the factory. I have be told anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2. I do know that restricting the flow can change things. Thanks.

The M has a short pipe extending from the manifold.Muffler slips over the pipe.

Catalog says 2 and 3/8,New muffler is 26 bucks.
