Are tractors selling these days?

Anyone having any luck peddling tractors these days.
Buyers here in Pa are few and far between these days.

Depends on your perspective. Anything will sell when priced to the market. Doesn't matter if it's a house or a tractor.
A guy hired me to buy him a tractor a few months ago. He's got $4000 burning a hole in his pocket and wants a tractor with hi-low range (or a very low 1st gear), three point hitch, live PTO, and a loader. Usually I'd had found many worth buying. But . . . just about every piece of junk I've looked at has an asking price starting at $4000 and none are what I'd call great condition. Not even close.
I bought two such tractors this summer. Both 32 horse diesels, three point hitch, live hydraulics and PTO, hi-low range, and loaders. Paid $800 for one and $1200 for the other. Both ratty but ran and could be used.
My point is . . . I see more tractors now, more then ever, with unrealistic prices on them. So yeah, those are not selling well. Same goes with overpriced real estate.
I'll further note that I'm always looking for "deals." Every reasonably price tractor, hoe or dozer I've looked at sold fast.

Lower price points are still moving.Hard to buy them right and turn anything after getting them squared away.

Not yet. I'm wating until the list comes in the paper. He usually has it in the Pennysaver the week before.

I don't mean to steal this thread, but would you mind sharing the meaning/significance of your handle, "showcrop." It has me curious.

Thank you,
Glenn F.

The ad has been in Country Folks for a week or two now. I stopped in last friday. The yard was looking pretty full. Jim says of course he'll have a lot more.

Glenn, I was telling someone that one of my Fords is a row crop model,{actually all five are) and it is pretty nice looking, and he said it's not a row crop it's a showcrop! So, I took it for myself.

I don't get Country Folks anymore. Got to cost too much. Years back, it was free like the Pennysaver and My Shopper. They used to leave a stack at our tractor dealership.

They are selling like crazy but the prices have been cheap. We have sold 15 in the last three weeks.( Estate)

Price is what sells if its too high its hard to sell. This time of year prices will be low especially this year with rising taxes and more people unemployed and some working less hrs.Plus buyers know that sooner or later they'll find what they are looking for at a bargain.Just bought a nice JD 316 with a mower deck and grass catcher from the original owner always garaged and well maintained for $200

Oh WOW! Where are you located? Tractors like that would be at minimum $500-$600 here in Ontario. Sure wish I could find some deals like that!
