Just a little curious about where everybodys dinner is coming from. Mine is a 26 pound tom I raised on my farm.

no turkey here but i'm gonna smoke a lil pig i shot while he was rootin up my hay field.

I tried something new this year, raised 8 turkeys myself. I had the amish process them, smallest was 18 pounds dressed uo to 35 pounds. Gonna have a 27 pounder at Ma's tommorrow.

No turkey. Gonna have a goose and a ham...came from the farm. Going tomorrow AM and see If I can still hit a cottontail after all these years. The hills are full of them this year.
Taking my nephew out. He has never been rabbit hunting.

Just saw on the news a couple minutes ago, a couple has an animal rescue place, they have a 3 year old turkey that has cataracts, they are taking donations for surgery to make the bird see better, got $500 so far, will take $2600 to get it done.

Takes all kinds!

No turkey. Ham with honey, cinnamon, brown sugar glaze, baked sweet potatoes, asparagus grilled in olive oil with red & yellow bell peppers and a touch of garlic, crescent rolls, fresh brewed iced tea and spice cake for dessert. Then watch football games and doze.

Just for the wife and I, so we got a 14 pounder at Wal-Mart for 40 cents a pound. Wonder if it came from China?? I ll have to check the wrapper.
Headed for the kitchen now to make a couple of Blackberry pies and some cranberry sauce.

I've been told on this board and the Tool board that everything nowadays is made in China, so I'm assuming the bird came from there.

Ours comes from a small farm on the coast of Maine. Even as turkeys go, he was homely and, what with several large toms in the same yard, was never able to find a hen to allow him to pop the jake brake and get about the business of reproduction.

I expect he'll be tasty in any event.

29lb and his siblings who had been around my yard all spring and summer.
You guys are awful late with Thanksgiving. We had ours on Oct 12th.

I raised 50 of them one year. Had $7 per head invested, and you could buy a naked turkey with one of those little pop-up gadgets in his side for $6 in the grocery store. The story of my life. Buy high and sell low.

It looked bad, but a guy who ran a BBQ kitchen bought almost all of them for $10 apiece. Said he preferred farm raised turkeys, as if all turkeys aren't farm raised.

No more live turkeys around here (except for me).

Our three thanksgiving turkeys this year came from the cooler at Krogers. Butterballs.

Gonna fry them in the morning.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!

Paul

If you get a turkey from Jenny-O, my wife may have helped process it. The plant at Melrose Mn. worked straight through the last 2 Sundays to get the birds ready for thanksgiving.

Excellent!! Acting in a Musical is great fun! It has been some years now but that is where my handle on this website comes from!
