Anybody know anything about a Satoh model Beaver tractor? It looks like an overgrown garden tractor. It is 4wd, has a front loader, and a diesel engine. Anybody know anything about these or what it might be worth? It runs and the loader works.Thanks. |

| I have one that I use regularly, 1981 model, I think, has glow plugs, I put a preheater on the block, it helps. One thing you have to be ware of, if it has a weird looking pto shaft on it, it probably has a bgstard pto on it, runs backwards, has 3 speeds. I just use mine to spray and spread lime, so alls I did was to reverse the fins on the fertilizer spreader. There is a dealer for parts out of Roanoke, Va, go over to tractorbynet.com, they have a page for these orphans. |

| I worked for a dealer that sold them new in the 70s. The diesels used Mitsubishi engines as I recall. They weren't bad tractors, but parts availability was awful. Almost as bad as parts for Fiat diesels that Oliver used. |

| | I had the displeasure of owning a Satoh Elk, once upon a time. Mine was gas.....around 20 HP and had a belly mower. I had constant hydraulic issues with it and was glad to see it leave. My advice is to keep shopping. |
