I posted here a few weeks ago about mice in the
house. Got a cat, plugged a few holes, and set
a few traps. Things are pretty well under control
My question is one reply I had said that electronic mouse repellers would work if there
in an open line of site(ie not blocked by walls).
I was wondering if I could buy 4 repellers and
put them outside on the 4 sides of my house. Do
any of you think this is might help?

Reminds me of a funny story.

I had a manager that put them in his house. He figured he would put them on the bottom floor and it would chase them out. However, they were already in the house and when they heard the thing they went flying upstairs. He put another one upstairs and it irritated the mouse so much it chewed through the bedroom door over night. Must have been pretty annoying to do that much chewing. After unplugging the ones downstairs the mouse finally left. He has them still and no problems to this day, 4 years later.

I don't have much faith (ok zero faith!) in those things.

On the farm I have had 10-25 cats, do moth balls, fabric softenr sheets, a small amount of poison (but I don't want to hurt the cats!) and some fragrant cab anti-mouse stuff.

The cats help, but can't keep up.

The critters used the mothball box & fabric sheets for nesting material.

The cab freshener anti-mouse fragrant stuff seemed to help, but only a 1 year test....

They are tough to deal with once they get established. Was down to 3 lazy tom cats a few years ago, things got away from me there for a bit.

Always looking for good ideas to help....

Since 1 October I have caught 117 mice in the shop and house. I had a bag of suflower seed in the shop and that was a big mistake.
But now I am down to catching about 1 per day.

One of the major issues with such products is the non-identical,copys,usually cheaper which flood the markets, shortly after someone makes a legitimate working product. On such devices frequencies and range can vary greatly from the actual"true"device, however the consumer has no way of knowing which is which.Sadly neither do the boneheads doing the bulk purchasing for the retail sellers, who no longer care about QUALITY or CLAIMED ability, but simply maximizing the profit margin. After all,it isn't like you bring in a mouse, bug, bird etc and get your money back. And then theres the consumer attitude"Why should I pay $20 for ONE,when I can "Buy 2,get 2 FREE" on TV for $10. All this trickles down to"Them dang things are worthless"....BTDT,need a T shirt....Remember School..learning can be a slow process :)

We used to have a house cat that would catch them, only he would play with them until they either got away or gave up and died. One of his tricks was to drop the mouse in a shoe, any shoe that was available, and stick his paw in to tease the mouse. One day Marilyn picked up a shoe and a mouse jumped out. She screamed, dropped the shoe, the mouse went one way, the cat went the other way, then turned around and came back with his tail looking like a bottle brush. After that my wife always dumped her shoes out before she put them on.Jim

I have had good luck with some cheap electronic repellers I bought at Big Lots.

As you said they only work line of sight. I put them around aimed at doors and such and my mouse problem went away.

The will not work if blocked by anything, around corners, etc. And for all I know there are deaf mice. But they worked for me.

Now the electronic mosquito repellers I have tried are garbage.
