I own a 57 601. The clutch is stuck to the pressure plate and will not release. Any thoughts on breaking it loose???
Is there an access point??

remove starter and with a mirror and a modified bar you can pry on the press plate with clutch depressed, with any luck it will break loose, also try blocking pedal down for day or so prior. tends to help

get a remote starter switch and get on tractor ready to drive...start it in gear and rev it up and and back while driving and have foot mashed down on clutch...may take a bit but clutch will break loose...been thru it couple dozen times on my '62 Ford 2000 and tractor aint been split yet...be careful.

I freed my 601 with a 24in. pipe wrench on the pto.The 601 seems pron to that problem I block the clutch when ever I think of it.....ort

I managed to pull the lining off the clutch disk doing that.I have had the tractor idle for 3 months with out sticking,3 weeks did it this time.A 2x4 scrap will block the clutch down 1/2 way.The amount of clutch facing material under the rivet heads is very thin. The facing was stuck fast to the pressure plate.I think it would be better to take the tractor out into a feild and run it holding the clutch down until it freed up.
