The trip is planned, the house is rented, no we are looking for things to do in Naples on the week of Dec27-Jan2. Airboat rides are on the list, but what else? We will have an 8 and 7 year old with us, so nothing dangerous!

Thanks for any suggestions,

Aaron

Driving across Alligator Alley I-75 is always a nice relaxing drive. There should be some light houses in the Naples area. Gerald

Naples is fantastic..beaches, bars, night clubs retaurants shopping..and check the schedule for the swamp buggie races, they are held just on the edge of Naples

Just north of Naples is Ft. Myers where you can tour the Henry Ford home, the Harvey Firestone (or was it the other tire guy) home, and Edison's workshop and museum. The homes were brought in on barges on the Caloosahatchee river back when those men were alive. Also, Ft. Myers has Sanibel Island with lighthouse, shops, and beach. There's also drag racing in the mud at Naples, and normal drag racing at Immokalee. Check out the website(s) for Naples and Ft. Myers.

I think down on that side of Florida is the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. I understand it is a great place to visit. Search on it and find out more.

Two other great attractions (if you are so inclined) is to go up to Ft. Meyers and visit Thomas Edison"s home and lab. Amazing stuff and he was involved in things you had no idea of.
Also, the Ding Darling wildlife sanctuary is a beautiful walk/drive with abundant vegetation and a good resident bird population. You could do half a day at either one of them.
The weather is just starting to get to be the time to be visiting.

Backwards, but we stayed on the east coast, watched the sunrise over the ocean, then drove across and watched the sunset over the ocean in the same day. Don't take much to excite me...... Alligator Alley was neat and full of tourist sites. Immocollee sparked some colorful conversation
Wife likes Naples but there is a bunch of neat stuff on the west coast (this info coming from a tourist that drove and played in the area twice).

Main thing is have fun.

Well I don't know what the water temp. is down there is this time of year but I mainly go fishing while I'm down there for Easter. Got to get a Florida fishing license first though. I usually go to Nokomis,Fl. Go and find something that is diapering in Florida, the orange groves!!! There is one in Nokomis called Nokomis Groves. If they are open get some Orange Ice cream(its good, but I'm usually down there in the spring). Take him to see the Ever Glades its really cool!!! Of course there is always Disney.
