Why is it that when I go to the "Parts" section of the photo ads, type in "H Farmall Gas Tank" and click on "Go", I get a million parts, everything except an H Farmall gas tank?
 
I get that sometimes too in searches. think you need to narrow down number of words in request or just put in brand and see what's there. Sometimes I get about 5 ads for similar, then rest wander way off topic. Not sure why. I'ld like to know too, why so vague.
 
I've had the same problem, and my theory is that what you get is every ad that includes H, Farmall, Gas or Tank, which will be a lot of ads. I would just shoot for either Farmall or Tank and see if that was better. It seems like there must be a better way to do this, but I don't know.

Search hasn't worked well on photo ads for long time. Try regular classified ads has more options or do google or other online searches.
 
Zachary is right. The search will show up any match. I would choose the word LEAST likely to show up, in this case "tank". I just tried it and came up with 46 hits. Unfortunately the closest was a Farmall M Gas Tank :-(
 
Don't know for sure yet if I need a tank. I put some liner stuff in it a couple of years ago, and it's been fine.

Then, I had a fuel starvation problem a few days ago. I finally drained the tank, pulled the sediment bowl, and found the outlet from the tank partly plugged with something. I cleaned it up and it's fine now. Don't know if it was just a fluke, or if the inside of the tank is going kaput again. Guess I'll wait and see if it does it again. Thanks.
