O/T Update on the mousecapades

Got home this evening, got the work clothes on and went to the barn to check the trap. Tether was stretched out and the remains of a mouse in the trap. All that was left was the head. Disposed of the remains and proceeded to move the frig out.

Woohoo! Discovered the Mouse Highway. Over the years the floor of the tack room had dropped and there was about a 2 inch gap between the back wall and the floor. Got up on top of the tack room where we store odds and ends and found a piece of galvanized metal flower bed edging about 5 inches wide and 10 ft long.

Pulled the shelves and all the other stuff away from the wall, dropped the edging in place and shoved the heavy metal shelves back up against it. Found a piece of 1 x 4 about 2 ft long and used it to cover what the edging didn't.

Mouse Highway closed. (I hope)

I did reset the trap. We'll see if there's anything in it in the morning.

Rodents are in my workshop! They won't go to
mousetraps set with peanutbutter, I hate glue
traps but finally put one out. I got 5 pigmey
shrews in 24 hours, Mom, Dad, and the kids.
