Tub Grinders

What brand makes a good Tub grinder??? Our IH grinder mixer is about shot...and we are looking at maybe a tub grinder....Can they grind ear corn??? I know most can grind round bales, and we like the idea of that, but just curious about ear corn, and good and bad brands, and used values...any input appreciated

Check out the Diamnod Z it has twin V 8 cat motors grinds anything you can put in the tub, truck tires you name it.

My neighbor has had a Verti-mixer I think is a brand name for about 5 yrs. with no troubles except a 4020 JD 100 HP gets overloaded, he uses a 4450 150+HP that works!

There are lots of them in this area and there are usually only 2 brands people are buying here anyways.Jaylor or Supreme. Some other brands that are good are Lucknow,Kuhn-Knight I think makes them too, they should be as good as anything out there too.

they got a large one at the local trash dump it will eat anything the guy running it occasionaly will drop a ricer motorcycle in it, never even slows it down lol

JUST tellin You about Our neck of the woods ,, You might have better LUCK OK<>...tub grinders will gut the chitt out of a pto clutch ,,, Don't Matter how TUFF that 4020 is ,, The PTO will not hold up to that ABUSE .. You should have 150 horses ,And a heavy PTO to carry it ....Check and maintain all oil levels in Tranny and PTO clutch area if SEPERATED , RELIGOUSLY, Get that PTO adjusted to factory SPECS before hooking up the PTO ,, and every 2 years or until you have had enuf and sell the tub grinder, after destroying the PTO .. be Prepared for a expensive trip to the shop to fix the clutches ...

We have run haybusters for years, dad currently has a H1100 model and we have run it with 100hp tractor, you just need to run the tub slower. With 250hp up front it will really eat hay, we have also cracked corn with it before. This one has a hydraulic governor and the newer ones have an electronic governor, if set right they wont overload the tractor unless you are trying to grind real wet hay. He paid 6000 for it about six years ago. He use to rent the neighbors H1000 and that one had an electornic governor and smaller grinding drum and workded fine with a 100hp tractor, just need to set the governor according to your tractor. Years ago we rented a Farmhand model 900B and that one has a smaller grinding drum and pulls much easier, it also is hydraulically governed. Have seen them sell for around 2000 in average condition and would probably be a good unit to have if you are only grinding small amounts and have less than a 100 hp tractor. The farmhand model we used was designed for the 80- 140 hp tractors, more than that and pieces start flying.
