Dealership, TSC, TISCO, other short line dealers, maybe this site have 1 3/8 21 spline X 1 38 6 spline or it 1 3/4 20 spline.

Be sure to buy a good quality adapter. I've seen the cheap ones twisted, bent and broken.

Are you talking about the little ding-a-ling 1000/540 shaft? Or the 1000 to 540 step down gearbox?

The PRICE is not much but the COST is high. Meighbor tore up most every piece of PTO equipment with one. The only durviwor was his spray pump.

We have one, it twisted slightly. Only reason is because we rebuilt a grain vac and the PTO shaft we used was a 540 shaft from a feed grinder.

Why overspeed your equipment? If you are using a diesel tractor you won't use much more fuel at high rpm with much less load than you will at low rpm with more torque. Plus at lower speeds you risk breaking piston rods, skirts, or crankshaft. Better to run the engine fast than think you are doing good for the environment and saving fuel at lower rpms.

Main reason is to use 540 equipment you already have, that's low HP so you could still use it while loafing along with the big tractor. For instance, my 3 point spin fertilizer spreader or small sprayer.

The one I looked at was only rated to 125 hp. Didn"t say it on the adapter,had to look it up in the book that sold them. Damn things should be marked!

Just paid 29.99 for one at the local Farm/City store. Put it on the 4020 to run my PTO generator. In spite of the naysayers, we"ve done it for years running about 1200 rpm on the tractor to get 115V on the generator. No problems whatsoever. I do believe the fuel use
is less although I"ve never done a comparison.

If you stopped and took a look instead of running off crying tattle tale to mommy.You would have noticed the "spelling errors" were actually "hunt and peck" typing errors.
