The Long 460 was built in Romania, by UTB. Mostly designed by Fiat. The 460 was from about 1976 to 1986. Those years are just guesses. The Long 445 was a similar earlier model. UTB also built the Allis 5040 and at least one model for Oliver. Good tractors for the money. |

Long 445 in reply to Bus Driver, 11-07-2009 16:11:50
|
| I have 1978 long 445 diesel (3cylinder) Last week it ran for about 30 min at idle and died! I think the engine is locked up. I couldn"t pull it (with my truck)to turn the engine. the tractor tires just skidded. Any ideas?? or is there another brand of engine that will fit in its place without a bunch of modifications? |

| One source shows that the Long 460 was built until 1991. I do not know if that is correct. Do not trust the hour meters on UTB tractors. The hour counter is not reliable, but the tachometer often continues to function. UTB did build the Oliver 1250 and 1255 models. A good Long 460 would be a good buy at $4500 or less. |
