Found this video on cold starting a Long 350. The fellow is turning the start switch in the wrong direction! The manifold heater works when the switch is turned in the other direction! Mostly designed by Fiat. The 460 was from about 1976 to 1986. Those years are just guesses. The Long 445 was a similar earlier model. UTB also built the Allis 5040 and at least one model for Oliver. I think the engine is locked up. I couldn"t pull it (with my truck)to turn the engine. the tractor tires just skidded. Any ideas?? or is there another brand of engine that will fit in its place without a bunch of modifications?   [Reply]   [No Email]

I do not know if that is correct. Do not trust the hour meters on UTB tractors. The hour counter is not reliable, but the tachometer often continues to function. UTB did build the Oliver 1250 and 1255 models. A good Long 460 would be a good buy at $4500 or less.   [Reply]   [No Email]
