I would like to know what pounds of torque I have on my air impact..air impact works great but I dont know how tight the burrs are..any solutions...thanks in advance..

Do you have a torque wrench? See how much torque it takes to loosen a big bolt after tightened with the impact. You could probably check by tighening with a good torque wrench as well. Dave

An air wrench is not a good device to use for final tightening. Torque bars used on air wrenches in tire shops are used to prevent over tightening, and do that pretty well. They limit torque by absorbing the hammer blows of the wrench. Tighten to less than tight, and use a torque wrench, it is worth the effort. JimN

varies by model anywhere from 150 to 700 ft lb
for a 1/2" impact do not trust an impact on anything important
should be torqued if it matters

The model of the impact wrench and the pressure of the air supply determine the torque of an impact wrench. If you need soemthing torques to a speck, use a torque wrench and make sure it"s calibreated you can check( not calibrate) it by clamping the drive in a vise, measuring the distance from the center of the drive to the center of the hand grip (or the pivot point if it"s a beam type) and hanging weights from the center (or pivot point).

weight x distance from center of drive (or pivot point) = torque.
