If you need soemthing torques to a speck, use a torque wrench and make sure it"s calibreated you can check( not calibrate) it by clamping the drive in a vise, measuring the distance from the center of the drive to the center of the hand grip (or the pivot point if it"s a beam type) and hanging weights from the center (or pivot point). weight x distance from center of drive (or pivot point) = torque.   [Reply]   [No Email]

Torque bars used on air wrenches in tire shops are used to prevent over tightening, and do that pretty well. They limit torque by absorbing the hammer blows of the wrench. Tighten to less than tight, and use a torque wrench, it is worth the effort. JimN   [Reply]   [No Email]
