O.T.- Math Question

What is the formula for finding the Focal Point ( FP ) of a Parabola? I use to know this but I can not remember now, Alzheimer's?, And I can not find it in any of the books I have. I tried Google with no luck.

x squared. or x^2. it will have the shape of a U and it will start at the coordinate (0,0). To move it up your equation would look like X^2+1.
to move it down an example would be X^2-1
to move it right an example would be (X-1)^2
to move it left an example would be (X+1)^2
