Tractors between Portales and Clovis NM

Last time I was in New Mexico, I saw a line of old tractors along Highway 70 between Clovis and Portales. Anyone know anything about them?

I saw more in either Hereford or Bovina TX also.

Those tractors out side clovis were sold at auction this spring and I sent my son to buy a mag. for a jd as they also had parts for sale, and he bought a farmall regular instead , we already completed it. my son said that they went real cheap. A jd-D went foe $250. and a better one went for $350. both were unstyled. not many people showed up. By the way the regular was on steel and was a 26 model and my son payed $175-we had it running in 2 days. then we took it all apart and rebuilt it from the front to back and from the ground up- mike

Those you saw in TX, were most likely at Friona at the airport. Man that collected them died several years ago and son will not sell anything. All of those sitting outside went through a tornado years ago. Some were restored and still ran. I imagine most are stuck now. I stopped and to look one time and they told I could look all I want, but if I try to buy they will run me off the place. At one time there were some very nice tractors in this collection. Never understand why people just let them set and rot away.

I just searched and found the article on the Portales News Tribune.

I lived there during and for a bit after college, and now live in Michigan with 2 JD A's and 2 JD B's.

Always wondered about them, and took some photos while I was out there. Thanks.
