Illinois toll road fees?

I am planning on going to Moline to "Mother Deere" and I have never travelled on the toll roads. How much is the toll on HWY 39 by Rockford and on HWY 88 by Rock Falls? Will I need to have exact change to pass thru or will they be able to make change? Thanks for any help.

i believe its $1.90 per toll booth. theres toll booth attendants if i remember correctly between I-39 and where the toll road ends going west. 2 booths i believe. if you get off of I-88 there may be some exact change pass throughs.

trust me they will take your money and give you change make sure you go to the cash lanes [far right] and then after you pay go like hel- because the per pay cars are going 50 or better so don't poke along or you will get run over

Going south on 39 from Beloit there is a toll barrier 3 miles into Il. Big rigs cost .25 per axle, so cars/p-ups must be around .50, have attendants there. Have a couple dollar bills handy, they grumble a bit if they have to make change for a 50 or 100.
The Rockford get-off does NOT have attendants, just a change basket. Toss coins in basket & wait for green light. Will accept any coins, but takes machine longer to count if you throw in pennies. Rates may have gone up a nickel since i was last through there. Watch the signs for amount & which lane to use.
Westbound on 88 there is a barrier with attendant at the Dixon area. Don't remember the cost there,or whether there is another barrier at the west end of tollway.

I try to have a dish or something for change on the dash when I travel the toll roads around Chicago. Just toss in the change and go.

It comes up on this link. Sometimes you have to use your imagination to find what you are looking for. Now let me see, "what would the State of Illinois call it?" LOL

Just came thru there last week. As I recall, one
toll booth after leaving I-90 and getting on 39.
When I got to I 80 I went east and one toll booth
on 80 before Indiana. Cash lanes are usually on the right lanes Ipass on the left.
Don't recall the amounts, but less than $5 total

Man I hate tolls. They aren't bad along that route. Made a trip out to NY last year pulling dual axle trailer. Spent $180 on tolls, $28 just to go through one tunnel into Manhattan. I-87 to upstate is the worst. Seems like every 5 miles they wanted 5 bucks! Just chaps my backside!
