Carb for 641 Workmaster

I took my carb off to clean it and when I got it to the shop I notice there is a hole in the bottom of the carb. What goes in there? A friend says to just plug it up. Can I put a screw and nut through that hole and just plug it up?
My friend says that would be OK but I"m worried about the nut working lose and finding its way into the engine somehow.

That hole is there to allow condensation to get out. Without it, the condensation would just puddle in the bottom of the carb and then be drawn into the engine when you next start it, and the engine probably wouldn't like it and most likely would be hard to start and run rough until it was all burned off. There is supposed to be a filtering media in that hole. I think the Marvel-Schebler carbs used a molded brass filter that is "staked" into the hole. I don't know where to get that piece, but you might try at an auto parts store. most likely you will need to visit a Ford/New Holland dealer though.

Thanks for your reply, Rusty.
I'll check next time I'm at my Ford/New Holland Dealer and see if they have it.
I appreciate your answer.
