Any body miss me??

I did. You are always missed when you are not on line. How is the ground saturation situation )last I remember you were a bit wet in MO. Jim

Wet isn't the word for it here. It is more like soaked to the bone and then some. 4th wettest year yet as far as the weather man says. My phone line comes in over a mile and I'm the only one on it and there is a place that has washed out and the line is above ground and some one or something cut it about 4300 feet from the house as per the phone man. He had to walk about half of that just to get to where it was bad

This spring i was plowing the garden and ripped up my phone line. They don't bury the lines deep enough the repair man said its about 15" under the ground is all. just though I would share that with yall.

about 5 years ago a phone company contractor cut a 2" water line on our place that they knew was there. I was at work and somehow they found the valve at the well and cut it off. Of course, we were the ones that had to fix it.

Not at all! Been on vacation the last week and have not spent enough time on line to notice. I took a real vacation for once, went to the Smokies with the in laws for 4 days. Glad you are back on line, wish I was still at home and not at work.

As for the cut line, between the ditch washing out and splices they have put in from rippers the last 10 years more of the line on my road is above ground than under it. When the contractors came through last spring picking up stuff from the ice storm their clam shell pickerupper ate our line in about 6 places.

Ya yeara ago they buried the line across a filed here and my dad said nope that will not do. They told him that was it and he again said no way. He ended up digging t ditch for the line about 8 foot deep so as not to worry about plowing the line up each year. Sad that they don't have a clue as to how deep it should be in a farm field

8 FEET deep,,,,Holy crap,,,,,how deep you guys plow any way We only bury our watter lines 6 feet up here in n dakota,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and i thot that was deep,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,O well,,,I have heard it said its not how deep you plow,,,its how long you stay in the field,,,,,:)

They flipped out when we started putting our fence right along their lines, but now after calling 3 times i cant get them to come out and mark our property before i go digging up everything trying to install water to the cattle and another septic system. I guess i will find it sooner or later. I know its already been spliced at least 2 or 3 times from the road crew hitting it when they have been working on the road.

I didn't miss you, I've been traveling, went to California, then Oregon, then Colorado, now I'm tired and done traveling for a few months,

sure did visit a lot of people with problems,
good to be back, but now have to get ready for that snow a-coming.

When reading replies on this forum I always note
who answers and take note of their wisdom and
experiance, sure I missed you. Someday i'm going
to drive up your drive and ask to see your
tractors..when you see the grey beard you'll
know it's "greygoat"!

yup rich, i missed ya!!!! ya think you can turn the big rain valve off by youz guys down there for a couple weeks so we can finish combining up here??? i been thinking about mounting a 4 row head on a pontoon boat so i can get the corn out. havent got the sheller unit quite figured out yet.

If you have a big enough engine with a 540 pto shaft to power the pontoon boat I have a #6 john Deere corn sheller would handle the shelling duties. Armand P.S. This comment is a reply at Glenster. Sounds like it is as wet in Reddick as it is in Ashkum and Piper City, Il.

Ya he didn't need to dig it in that deep but he was the one doing it so I let him and since I didn't have to help I figured it was his time he was using not mine LOL

Wish I could turn it off for a bit but then people down in Texas might get backed up and float away. LOL. The news said last night this is the 2nd wettest Oct we have had since they started keeping records so yep it has been way to wet here also

Yes I'm a telemarketeeeer, and been trying to contact you. I reported your phone being out, and also advised all the political folks your phone is now working.

And you you always thought your mother in law was a pain in the rear---I'm one up on her now.

Hey have a good day guy! You were a very straight up guy to deal with on the W manual, hope it has been helpful.

I've seen a lot of suburban homes where the phone line is laid across the finished grade and then they just lay sod over it. Sad how lazy some people are. I actually haven't had much time on here lately so I'm just trying to catch up on stuff.

Hey Old,
I missed your thoughtful and knowledgable
replies. Hope you have better luck with
your line.
