UB is it suppose to be 12v neg ground or positive ground with Generator? I have mine on pos. ground and it does not charge, gauge discharges. What is wrong what should i check out? Does anyone have a diagram?

Originally 12 volt positive ground with generator.

1. You don't say how much it discharges on meter. You could polarize generator by momentarily jumpering from generator armature post to BAT terminal (wire to ammeter) on regulator. Touch the nut and not the threads on the armature so when it arcs it doesn't damage the threads. Polarize with tractor not running then see what it does when you start it up.

2. Ground field post on generator (tractor running). If it now charges you have a regulator or wiring problem.

3. If it still does not charge leave ground on field post. Jumper from armature on generator to "BAT" terminal on regulator. (wire going to ammeter). If it now charges suspect a cutout problem in the regulator or associated wiring. If it still does not charge suspect the generator.

Thanks for the quick info. I will try this out this weekend. I will try to get back to you. It just goes on the discharge side one or two lines.
