Lovely day here. I plan my firewood a year in advance, so I can have a leisurely winter cutting for the following one.

Today I set up some cold frames and transplanted to make sure I could harvest all winter. It's great to brush snow off the cold frames and pick greens.

hauled in a tandem axle trailer load of wood, in 12 foot lenghts to cut and split soon, fixed one of the tractors strung 200 feet of bull wire fencing, got my kenworth ready for work in the morning, did chores around the farm that i ususlly do every day

Did the same thing. Split and stacked a couple of pickup loads of firewood in the wood shed.

This was the site in front of my house today.

You wouldn't catch me up there. How bout you.

that fella's got cahones big enough to come in a dump truck! and i asume he's very well paid to do that, but if y'all dont mind i'll stand on the ground and watch

I went to the store, came home, baked a pumpkin pie, made a big pot of vegetable sooup, cleaned the inside of the crankcase on the J D "H", and painted the rails and front pedestal. It was a great day. rw

Piddled away a couple of hours trying to combine the parts of several boneyard computers into one that worked. Finally got one that ran, still had Windows 95, tried to install MS Office and never did find a CD drive that worked. All I wanted was one I could run Excel on in the shop. The hard drive gave up on the one I'd been using.

Gave up and worked on a customer's pickup.

Church in the morning, went to a play, that both my older grand daughters were in. After the play most everyone came to our house to celibrate a birthday. Had to take my wifes 86 year old uncle home, as he doesn't drive after dark. Now it's 8 pm, and the day is gone. I guess a person needs to idle down now, and then. Tomorrow is another day. Stan

This morning I put some little smokies in the crock pot and spent the day alternating between catching a little tv and being out in the garage slowly tearing down my Allis Challmers B that I drug home this spring. Going to be a long, slow project, but I'm out to do the whole enchilada on this one.

We parted the calves off the home place herd today and hauled the calves to the sales barn for tomorrows feeder sale. Ended up with 94 calves off 93 cows. Tomorrow we will run the ladies thru the chute. In two weeks we do the same to the upper place herd. I wish I could record and post the singing going on out side now. Gary, what are they doing on those lines? Replacing parts or just inspecting? I bet those lines are hot to. Definitely not a job I would do.

I have heard of that being done and seen video. Not for a million bucks! Sure would be interesting to watch though! What a p1sser it would be if the copter had a mechanical and left him stranded!

Aloha,
Installed a window AC to keep my 1.10 year old grandson cool from this hot and humid weather that we have been having lately.

Worked on installing the tin on a 72'X 20' shed I'm building for cold storage. Second nice day in Oct to work on it.

Played musical tires all afternoon. Took the front tires off the I330, put them on the I404. Removed the old truck tires from the I404 rims and mounted NEW three rib tires on them, put those on the I330. I still have about fifty hours of mowing to do before snow, it will be nice to have the tractor actually turn, when I steer it,instead of watching the tires skip sideways over the ground until I mash the brake to bring it around.

Went to church. Hauled, cut and stacked wood--starting to cut some of the downed tops from a storm a couple months ago. Sprayed Round Up preparing for next year's food plots. Luckily, the rain held off until sometime early this morning.

Had several things I needed to do. But desided the most important was to take my 11 yr old grandson fishing. He loves fishing and spending time with me and I enjoy time with him. I wont let other activities change that.

It's all mind over matter......if you don't mind then it don't matter. But it matters to me a whole lot! I say no thanks

Had a "small" electrical fire on "15" our 53 Model 70 late Saturday afternoon.

Pulled it to the shop with "1011" our other 53 Model 70 early Sunday morning and replaced the wiring from the alternator, ignition switch, and amp gauge.

After repairing "15", finished mowing around the hay barn.

Mowed the front and back yard with "Sparky" our 51MT and Nancy's "new" FTH 600 Bush Hog finishing mower.

Mowed in the wooded area next to the house with the Ford 2810 and 7ft. Corsicana bush hog.

Went for a ride on "Uncle Earl" our 39B late Sunday afternoon.

Took a long nap on the way back to Dallas last night.

Finished rebuilding the briggs on my ole cub cadet and got it all put together and running. Then wife took off on it and mowed the yard, that means I get the weedeater, got the old B running for the first time in 6 months(she ran great for once!), chopped a dead tree out of the back yard, cleaned the garage out and then off to study hall at school for chemistry. What a dya it was! Then today its rained four inches since I got home at midnight, perfect timing on getting the mower rebuilt.

Pretty decent weather here, too- got a load of fir bark for bedding, pushed it around with the Kubota loader. Getting ready for winter at the barn- got some gutters to replace, went to Home Depot and got the new ones. Putting up permanent fences for the horse runs- made a chute for the cement mixer to put it in the holes. Hauled some dirt to fill in along the edge of the pond, to make the turn a little less sharp on the road to the barn. Good day, all in all.
