I 40 traffic advisory

tv reporting that I 40 is closed, both ways, at mile marker 3 near the TN-NC border. Traffic routed around by way of Johnson City, TN. Glad we missed it a couple of weeks ago.

This is not an uncommon ocurance. They had to dig the roadway through steep mountain sides in unstable rock. They have walls and various kinds of big chain link fencing to slow down rocks.

Seems like theres always som,ething on 40 going wrong, or they are always working on the danged hwy.

It could get closed here by Wed night just depends if or how much snow ! That time of year is here and harvest isn't done yet.

KEH, where are you located? it is a little early for snow here in nc, even in the mountains, although they did have some earlier this month.
