I have a 4ft Hawse shredder that I have been using on my Kubota B1750. I have overhauled my F40 and want to trade the 4 ft shredder for a bigger one to pull with the F40. anybody know what the max width that it will handle.

A 6 ft. cutter would be a good fit for that tractor.Anything wider or heavier will cause the front end to come up while turning with the cutter in the raised position.

With the F40, I would expect mower weight to be a bigger factor in sizing a rotary cutter. You ould probably handle a 7 footer power wise but you need to keep the weight down in order to be able to steer it. What is the three point hitch rated at for lifting weight?

Depends,if you have open spaces a 6 footer would be fine. I run a 5 footer with a TO30 and most of the time wish I had a 6 foot cutter.
