John Deere 2510 - plow

I have a 1966 JD 2510 and I"ve been plowing my field with a 2-12 bottom plow. Has anyone used that size tractor to pull 4-12 or 3-16 plows or is that too much for that tractor?

you should be alrigh with 3-16"s. In some places its 15 HP her bottom. Others say 25 HP per bottom. It really just depends where you are at. Unless you are in some really tough ground you should be alight with 3"16"s

I typically pull a 3-16 with my 2520, although I have ran a 4-14 on it in sandy ground. The 3-16 has never really been too much for it, really is the ideal plow.

For the better part of a decade, starting in 1966 with a brand new 2510, it was the plowing tractor with 3x16 semi-mounted (I'm guessing now) F145? Pretty good considering 180 cu. in. gas, compared to the prior plowing tractor- a WD45 @ 226 cu. in.

If you are in southern gumbo soil, that tractor will be too light for more than three bottoms. Ballast up for 3 bottoms and up.

1968 2510 Diesel with 3-16" F145A semi-mount. Perfect! Paul
