Found a deal on 2 trailers

I found a deal on two flatbed wagon style trailers. I asked the guy if you could hook them together (i'm waiting for a response). Its about a 5hr drive each way so I would like to get them both at the same time. I also asked if he had a way in which i could stack them, I can unstack them once i get them back. I'm not sure if I can pull tandem trailers along the highways safely. They dont have brakes along with pivoting front axles. I would like to go at least 50mph if possible.

Oh boy!!!!!!!!! dont try to piggy back the wagons. great harm would come from that effort. One At a time ,or have a friend take the second one, or a big enough trailer. LOU

Boy, I dunno,

Eight tires and eight wheels bearings you don't know about along with the loose steering on two old trailers?

Think I'd take a gooseneck and haul 'em home.

Got to agree with the others. You must have found one crazy deal or need'm pretty bad one. Like Allan said, get a GN flat bed that you know has good breaks, tires, and bearings and pull it 10 hours. 5 unloaded and 5 with two flat beds chained down on top of it.

Good luck.

Someone is always on here asking how to get 4-wheel wagons to quit wandering all over the road. Bring a trailer big enough to put them both on or forget all about it would be my suggestion.

You can typically go 25-30mph, esp with 2 hooked together. Slower if they are older worn ones.

Warn us on your route if you try the 50 mph thing, at least us ytmag folks can safely stay out of your way! :)

Some you could pull at speeds like that, I have some, but most will be all over the road at 15 MPH. Now to pull them you have to have an SMV sign on the back and with that you are legally only allowed 25 MPH. If you have to travel at faster speeds you have to buy a trailer licence for eash unit before you get there and for that you have to have them weighed on an aproved scale with all proper documentation and from what you say they are 200+ mile away from you so that is probably out of state so no way to get proper documentation for those licence tags as they would have to be your home state. Haul them.

I agree with the "haul 'em on a trailer" crowd. I'd see about turning the bottom one upside down, and nesting the other one right side up- probably offset a little, so wheels would fit down into the wagon gear of the other.

They are both 24' long. They are in the southern part of tx. I'm not going to do anything risky, and I will pass if its going to be too expensive. The trailers are 300 each and renting a 26' trailer is going to run around 500 for the weekend plus fuel another 100 bucks.

Best thing to do when you get there to pick up those two wagons is tie one behind the other however you can, set the cruise on 70 and never look back. If you make it home with the wagons all in one piece, that is how you know if you got good ones.
