What's the record?

If I counted right, there were over 60 responses to my post "I rest my case". Does anyone happen to know what the record is for the most responses to a thread?

It's always interesting to see a thread take off like that, and read all the pro and con responses, most of which are valid on both sides of the issue.

And to those who suspect otherwise, I have driven a combine on public roads. In fact, I once drove a combine with a header on it 45 miles from the seller to our farm. I planned all back roads, scouted the route ahead of time, packed a couple of baloney sandwiches and a couple of Pepsis, and hit the road. Took about 4 hours. And I can't recall even seeing that much vehicle traffic on the route I took.

4 hrs , i have that beat by quite a few hrs. also there was a guy up here in northern alberta that drove his 750 massey to ottawa to see the prime minister about the low grain prices. that was in the middle of winter and i think it was something like a month of driving that combine on the highway.i would not want that job or the balogny sandwiches in that weather he was in.

Well I got a little curious and looked back and the cars one had 95, but I'm pretty sure I remember a post taking up the whole front page some time back. Maybe during the elections? Jim

Yeah over a hundred , AND , that one was a good long decent thought provoking thread ,.. If You want a long one just pitch a fuss about the so called peaker of House , Congress in General ,or the grandaddy griper of them all , the current residents a t Pennsylvania Avenue ,,, and if some of the guys misbehave with abundant bash bent ,, the poof monster will Eat the WHOLE Subject , and it will be lost forever in the POOF GALAXY ..

You've got a long way to go. I can tell you that. 60 is nothing...
In the days before threads went POOF... I remember several that spanned the entire first page and mabey into page 2.
I've probably written as many as a dozen replies in one thread when the fire was moving fast... and that was just little old me.

Did you take something for the horses pulling it????

I guess the reason the thread is still there is that noone accused Bush or external_link of driving the combine or felt the need to impress us heathens with their knowledge (or lack of) of scripture.

Surgar beet time here now. Trucks aren't so bad, but where they get on the road gets pretty muddy and can get someone in trouble if they don't pay attention.

One post a few years back made it up to 237 responces. The queation was about what people do for a living. Every other time it gets asked it never makes it that far.

Goose,

Had you taken some Dr.Pepper or RC"s and a couple nanner Moon Pies, you have made in 3 hours or less!

I met that combine on the highway no my way to Toronto one day in Kaladar. On the way back the next day to Ottawa I met him again near carleton Place.
Didn't pay ant attention the first day but read the signs on the combine the next day. It must have been quite a drive that far.
