It is either Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL) or just an abcess from something like a splinter getting stuck in the goats lower jaw gum-line. CL is a bad thing and very hard to get rid of and very contagious but based on the location it looks more like an abcess. There is no nnalert or drug for CL.
Do you have a larger picture?
Good Luck

no i cant get it larger without it losing detail, my daughter took the pic with her didgital camera i dont know how to run those things and it will be next week befor she is back at the farm, sorry , but thanks for the info

I've never experienced an abcess that large. Never had any experience with CL. It definitely is not bottle jaw. I wish I could help, but that is the limit of what I can saw.

Good luck with the goat.

Is that lump underneath her chin? From the pic it looks like bottle jaw, which is a sign the goat is heavily infested with worms.

To check this pull her eye lid down and see what color it is. If its a healthy pink shes should be fine and its not warms and something else. If its a pale to white color its worms and you need to worm her fast.

When was the last time you wormed them? what kinda of wormer?
