electric clutch

My electric clutch coil opened up and quit working, after pricing new ones. I have decided to opt for used. My question is the coil portion of the clutch a fits all part are do I need the to check shaft size. Its an ogura clutch.

Are you absolutely sure it's bad? The one on my Case IH chopper quit. The ground wire was just loose. With the machine off but the switch engaged,I started tugging wires and heard it kick in. Tightened a screw and that was all there was to it.

Its a Ransomes D-17 bobcat diesel front mower with a 5 foot deck. I don't believe they have made any in about 20 years. The clutch has a 1 and 1/2 inch shaft. 1/4 inch keyway. All the front parts are good just the coil opened up. I checked it off the machine on a good hot battery. and read it out with a ohm meter. The best price I have found is just over 3 hundred bucks. The engine and most of the machine are in fare mowing shape. I saw a clutch on ebay for a john deere sale for 60 bucks and think it would have worked for me. looks like the coil part is the same as mine. I just would like to know if it would interchange. I expect the front parts differ as some use pulleys and some PTOs.

The answer is yes, the coil portion on the electric clutch are interchangeable. Just got a new one today its an exact match.
This one is from a John Deere 318, and its going on the Ransomes.
D17, got it for half the price of the Ransomes dealer. be sure to check the measurements before buying as they don"t take electrical parts back..

Thanks for the help..
