nice pics, Had a 2 row New Idea uni, filled the gravity boxes pretty fast, bet that 4 row only takes a few minutes.

Yes we are putting it in the silo. We are using a roller mill, grinds it just like a feed mill. Unsure about the moisture though.

It does fill fairly fast. The 12 roll husking bed doesn't like the 4 row though. You gotta creep along in good corn. Wish dad would have opted for the 16 roll when he bought it! lol

What great pics. Wish I could be there! Just wondering what that bright thing in the sky was, cant remember seeing one-at least not for a while!

You should try a 6 row head on that 12 roll bed then you will go slow.About 150-200a a year 5 years with 6,22 years with 4 picking into 400+Bu. gravity beds and hopeing for no mud.Still the best way to pick ear corn,BUT was H--- on the cribers with those big wagons.

I used one of those years ago to do the same thing except we had the chopper unit on the Uni with the snapper head. With recutter screens it made a fine tan colored ground ear corn mix. We blew it into self unloader wagons and through a regular silo blower into a concrete stave silo.

It's because you get more feed when you grind the whole ear instead of just the kernels. It take a bit longer to harvest the crop but you will get more feed out of it.

Really like those pictures. Does that dog hunt coons? That looks like the best deer and coon hunting ground in the country. I guess I ought to go for a ride someday, it's been probably twenty five years since I've been through Boscobel. Beautiful country.

"Buddy" doesn't hunt much except for stuff that doesn't move! :p I saw him the day I took the pics bury a deer bone in the barnyard with his nose! He is a goofy dog! Where you from?
