SCAMERS !!!!!!

has enyone else had a problem with scamers ? I was trying to sell my JD here on YT ans Iv had to e-mails form two diferant people wanting to buy my tractor, they want to send me a certified check for over the amount and have me send them the rest back ? I knew something smeled fishy when they referd to my tractor as " I am very interested in your item" I stoped them cold when I told them I only take CASH money for the amount only. who do I report this too ? is there anything I can do ? i have been a member of YT for years buying and selling and have never had this problem before. I am 74 years old but I did not just fall off the turnip truck yesterday. Thanks -Ruffus Schmidtt from WI

Give all the information you have to your States Attorney General.

Don't give / send them anything! Other posts on various discussion forums are reporting same/similar scams.

Tell them,,, I have severl tractors they can buy cheap, and they can send me more then I'm asking,

all I do is,,, take the check and open a NEW account in my Bank, when the check don't clear, they have to pay the Institution who has their name on the check, and them people will turn them in to the Law.

NEVER send any moneys to any one for any over charge, just keep it all...

Micheal from Alaska wants to send me a MO for my item...why not cash it & keep the jingles ...or can they fake a Money Order ?...would have gone for it but this guy can't put a sentence together & doesn't mind paying freight on a 200# item to Alaska ...Kent

The only adds I have ever posted on YT were wanted to by adds. I always get scam emails. The best one is the nice lady from New York City who always has "just what I am looking for and will send it as soon as possible if I will just email her my credit card number".

Unfortunately, these scam emails are a fact of life when you advertise something on the internet. The good thing is that they are very easy to identify.

there are an infinite variety of scams, mainly due to the fact the internet is ANONYMOUS.
If your contact is not in the phone book,
nor has a REAL address, then skip him. However, 99% of tractor guys are OK. If you get gyped once, its not worth whining about. Thats the price of a free country.
