run yerself out of feed. if need be, buy a couple new bags and keep them in the garage.. don't let them come into contact with the infested feed.

got to clean out the barn area where you store the feed.. sweep it down to bare concrete.

can put down some permethren /water emulsion in a spray bottle and spray the area real good.. then when dry, sprinkle seven dust around the area.

I then lay palletes down to stack my feed bags on.. prehaps a little more seven onthe pallates before you stack the bags.

Go buy new feed to restock your barn now.

at the end of the day, sweep up and discard all feed that hits the floor.. keeps it neat and clean and discorages pests.

do this cleanout 1x per year and yuo should be bug free.

remember to rotate your stock too.. when i bring in new feed.. the old feed gets used up first.

what if you mix Diatomaceous Earth with your feed? Should take care of the bugs in the feed and is also supposed to control parasites in the animals.

Just a thought, Dave

Agree pretty much with Soundguy. Dispose of all infested feed, sweep/clean storage area. Remove any old feed bags that might contain eggs/larva.

Personally, I wouldn't dust with sevin, but would use diatomaceous earth. Bugs hate it, but no chemicals or poison that will harm cats, dogs, or stock. You can even put it in the feed with no harm to the stock being fed. Do not use the stuff marketed for swimming pool filters.

Ask around and see if you can locate any wax myrtle. We have lots of it in e. Tx. The oil from the crushed leaves is a natural bug repellent. I don't know what affect they would have on stock if they got in the feed, so be careful if you use it.

"weevils" in the search engine gives a wealth of info, appears there's a weevil for all occasions.
some come in the seed so you may have to be selective with your supplier.
