Farmall A valve seals

Hello again,,,another question,,,,does the A engine use any kind of seal on the valve stems? If so , how do the stems get lubricated,,I got a gasket kit and it looks like umbrella seals in there,,and,,,,what are the clips on the valve stems...Who has a good A manual for sale?

From the factory it did not have seals on it. But put them on. The umbrellas will limit the oil to the guides and prevent excess consumption/smoke, while providing plenty to lube the stems. The clips are to keep the valve from falling into the cylinder and trashing the engine if a spring or retainer fails. JimN
