OT: small engine problem

Hi folks, got a robin-subaru engine on a go-kart that will not stay running unless the choke is closed. Tried the adjustment screws... put new mounting gaskets... tried everything i know. Any ideas? Thanks

you got dirt in carb stopping up some fuel circuits.open the carb up and check for sealing rings and small parts FIRST...then use a air hose and blow out every hole you see from both ends...reassemble.

the small metering jets have pbobley got varnish in them take the carb. all apart ang clean them with a small wiresoak them with carb. cleanereven the holes in the tube that goes up to the venture soak all parts for a couple hours the job is a pain.... good luck

dump a bottle of stabil in the tank and run the dickens out of it If that don't clear the carb its time to take it down and do it the hard way

The Main jet in Carb is dirty . Clean & put Kit in and will be OK. You might be able to get by with taking bowl off and cleaning it and removing main jet and blowing out with high pressure air .

Thanks for the advice. I took it back apart and cleaned it again... took the air hose to it after cleaning. Put it back together and it runs like a champ. Thanks again.
