ot garage floor paint

Bought a gallon of walmart paint for concrete. After reading full label,I find it warns not to use on auto garage. That is what I bought it for.So whate is the deal?It is latex skid resistant floor paint for concrete. If I return it,what should I buy in it's place? It is a 60 mile drive to walmart.

i used the 2 part Rustoleum Epoxy in my shop and i'm still happy with it almost 8 years later...floors been burnt cutting iron, dropping chunks of metal, tools, and been run over with a dozer few times...dont see concrete yet...i did 3 coats and mixed kitty litter in last coat to make it non slip.

i dont sweep it...use a electric leaf blower...works better on floor than it ever did in yard...oil spills just wipe up.

Is it tough to get an old garage floor clean enough so that the epoxy will adhere well? What about all of the wear marks, chips etc that come from doing repair work on the concrete floor? I suppose that the Rustoleum 2 part epoxy still looks better despite the imperfections. I didn't think it would hold up that well but now you have me thinking.

Don't use the walmart paint you have. The heat from the tires will lift it. I used a one part epoxy from Home Depot. Did not like it at all. It did not stick. Have not tried the two part epoxy.

its not about looks at all in my case...i just wanted floor to be easy to clean...bad enuff crawling around on the floor at my age but its worse in grease.
i coated my shop floor before it got greasy but i've got a neighbor that did his old slab...we steam cleaned floor and then etched it with muriatic acid...washed it with clear water a few times and let it dry good...then he just went with 2 coats and kitty litter in last coat...he doesnt run equiptment in like i do and his is holding up ok...i had a rough broom finish on slab and after second coat it was slicker n goose snot on glass...that was the reason for the third coat...theres some scorch marks but i havent seen anything go all the way thru yet...i'm pretty easy with dozer...straight in and straight back out...no point testing floor lol.
i've had good luck and reccommend it to anybody that asks.

Here at work we use a rustoleum two part epoxy. It's grey looks good and nothing here will hurt it for the most part. 13% bleach will discolor it and sodium chlorite will bubble it up if left long enough.

Good luck.

Never understood painting indoor concete floors. People paint 'em gray. Isn't it gray already. I'd clean it and let it go at that. You get grease on that paint and slick will have a whole new meaning for you.

2 part Rust-Oleum Epoxy, from Graingers works
for me. Leaking gas from a stuck float on a
Tractor carb. didn't hurt it!

Don't do it......you will now be repainting it forever. It is already gray. Sprinkle out clay based oil dry and boot-scoot-scuff-shuffle it in with your boot soles and it will clean up fine. Paul in Mississippi
