Just got done posting to billonthefarm as he is west of Peoria and I'm just outside of Peoria but does anyone else want to chime in?
Know glennster and his horses are up by Yorkville, toolz is over by Champaign, centralilbaler and Travis M are close as well, Super 99 must be up by Annawan, oldblue by Galesburg, 730 Virgil on the north end and others on the south - forgot the names!

Jim

In that neck of the woods, you would have to know Steve Winslow - used to work for us and lives and farms north of Toulon!

Jim

jeff, if you are about 20 miles s of kankakee, my farms are about 20 mi west of kankakee, just west of reddick off 17. i think armand tattro is somewhere a little west of you. kruser, you planning a get together, maybe at Big Als in peoria????

I live in New Baden, originally from Germantown (not Germantown Hills). Basically 45 min East of St. Louis.

glennster:
You've heard of Big Al's? Was in there a couple of times in my younger years but we just drilled for a new Marriot on that site this summer. Pretty sure they will relocate though as they have some high dollar property!
Give me a shout when you get to Peoria - might have a couple of extra horses you could give to the Howells - have trailer, but the horses would need to be go when my wife and daughter were gone. Will let you know where the trialer is!

Jim

I live in Ashkum, Il. and own a farm north of Piper City, Il. My son Andy lives between Chatsworth and Strawn, Il. but I can't get him on this forum yet. I came home thru Yorkville Mon. and was delivering nursey stock to Bloomington and Peoria, Il. today. Armand

Yep I'm out here west of peoria near farmington. I'm a little older than travis m but we both went to school here and I get to see his dad quite a bit as we farm next to each other a few places.

I have cousins at Illiopolis, Chuck and Phil Johnson. Dad was from Lake Fork, lots of family around Mt. Pulaski and Lincoln. I'm west of Rock Island near Illinois City. Chris

I live outside the booming metropolis of Norway, but Danway is closer or some may know the area because of the airplane that is nosed into the ground along IL. RT 71.

wow dave you are just down the road from the shop!!!! have you been to the spring consignment auctions in morris or yorkville at the fairgrounds?

I go to your area actually have to get coffee each day at CD in wyoming. Son farms some east of wyoming 2 miles When is this event, as I always go over to haul crops to elevator.

I always attend the Grundy sale and sometimes the Yorkville one and always go to Leland. I also farm around the Newark area as well as near where I live.

I farm 3 miles east of Wyoming, IL. We are the ones that started the fall festival tractor ride here in Stark Co.

kruser, good idea about the horse trailer. how many of them critters ya think will fit on the trailer??? with the two that visit me, plus the couple you got, and one of the gals that used to work for me has one that needs a new home, i figure i can hook up, load up, pack a lunch and run down to the Howells there in texas and set Nancy up with few more hayburners!!!. seein they just got another new to them green tractor, no problem increasing their hayin operations to feed a few more mouths!!! heck, i'll even stay on a week down there and hep em out baling!!!!

Anyone know Jim Deeds?? Ohioan retired from Cat. in Peoria. Farms over there somewhere in Illinoises

I live south of Salem, Il on a 40 acre spread. Run a few head of cattle and 6 horses. Spend most of my time on the Ford board here.

John

ALTO! ALTO! NO MAS CABALLOS! Sorry about that; got so upset started rantin' and ravin' in Spanglish! Now I've been polite in not postin' in y'all's Illinois Roundup, but talkin' 'bout haulin' horses South to Texas needs headin' off.

All kidding aside, this has been a good topic of discussion for you guys in Illinois.

Lots of you good fellows on this YT forum live up there in Illinois.

Invitation is still open; give us a couple of weeks notice so we can "tidy up" the hay loft for you.

[b:654c4848f0]kruser[/b:654c4848f0] several times you've signed off your replies to me with "Jim, but you can call me James".

Thanks James for posting a very good topic; I've enjoyed reading all the replies.

Hey Bill,
You're close! We go to St. Peter's Lutheran off the Hanna City/Glasford blacktop.

Jim

Chris - That's interesting.
Mom grew up outside of Beason on Route 10 and Dad was from Emden near Route 136/121 - We "grew" up in Emden and played sports with most of those towns. Folks live in Lincoln now and I have 2 friends that live between Lincoln and Mt. Pulaski.
Someday, we'll meet up at an Oliver show!

Jim

PS: Prayers sent for your friend that had cancer.

Thanks for the note James,
I was just going to post the glennster if we should get a semi-trailer for the delivery but it would be hard to get around our property without recognition - ie, wife/daughter. Guess we're going to have to get another plan.
Maybe take a horse or two to glennsters for safe keeping and they would fit right in! They would kill me though.
The way I remember it, if you get one more tractor, I'm getting a horse. They got a horse and I got another tractor. Didn't know it was going to the logrithmic scale!

Well - that's enough till I talk to glennster.

Jim - but you can call me James

I am originally from the Farmington area, now I live in Newman IL., and I am moving to Argenta soon. I will always be a Farmington Farmer though. I've spent a lot of time with Billonthefarm and the rest of the guys. We still get the hounds out in the woods quite a bit and I still like to get back to help my old man whenever possible.

cornfarmer, yup i am rigt near blair and nielsons . one farm is one mile north and about 1 mile east of nielsons, the other is the next mile west of nielsons and 1 mile south of rt 17. nielsons is putting up a huge addition to the facility, more bins, dryers ect. the are going to move offices to the little house that was just north of the old office building on the east side of campus road.

kruser, i got it figgered out!!!!! we paint all the horses green with yellow hoof's, slap some jd decals on em, then haul them to James and Nancy's place. prolly take the Howells at least a couple months to figure out that they are horses and not one of them johnny poppers!!!!

Try to picture the look on my face when I start looking for the flywheel to hand start one of those painted horses.

I lived in Peoria for 26 years before moving out to a place between Canton and Lewistown. My grandfather and great grandfather on my dad's side farmed just south of Kickapoo back in the 1910-1960's era before my grandfather sold out. My great uncle on my dad's mom's side farmed near Chebanse, IL. Farming is in my heritage and glad to be able to work on farm equipment.

I live near Sadorus, IL--SW of Champaign.
Not to able-bodied for the moment, and
Don't claim to know much, but sure have an interest...
Thanks, Dan
