loyham tractor

Garden?(walk-behind/riding?) Ag? Ind'l/Const/Mining?
Any dates known/guessed? Wheeled/tracked?? Your SS# and bank acct #...oops, disregard last (habit).
Seriously, any other info??

Well, Russ, that's not exactly overloading me with info, but it's more than I had when I asked; I assume you've found this thing, and are naturally reticent (I would be, too)...
Simpson seems to be one of those communities that shrunk after the war (4700+ per 47 atlas, 1400+ per 93 atlas).
I assume you found nothing on Google; I haven't either; I've sent out a few inquiries that may or may not bring answers. The chances are that it's a tractor just badged Loyham for some local farm/ag eqpmt dealer retailer, but you never know
Most of my source maetial is on engines used; if you can ID the engine in this thing it might help tie it down to a then established m'f'r'.
Email a contact to me at [email protected] and I'll be able to advise if anything comes up. Bud

Aahhhh...that's the question I should've asked first...
It's just a guess, but you'll want to look up some pictures and do some reading about a Chrysler 6cyl engined tractor that had a number of descendants; yours just might be another, or perhaps an antecedent:
Original 1935-?? CO-OP (Battle Creek, Shelbyville, Arthurdale), and it's brother, the FARMERS UNION CO-OP (South St Paul/St Paul), NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH the later Cockshutt CO-OP with Cont F140 or Buda 4B153, actually a Cockshutt;
Custom, probably first descendant;
Rockol, Regal and Norseman, Canadians;
Lehr Big Boy, Jumbo aka Simpsons Jumbo, Mont Ward full size EXCEPT the Twin-Row);
Then there are the third generation units:
Love (Jacob Love)
Friday (Dave Friday)
OMC (Amos Ostenburg/Osterberg?), NOT the marine engine OMC);
Closson and Wilson: never really verified these.
All above from memory; mislaid my notes.
I know your date was 1933; the 1935/6 production was of a unit that Parrett? had been shopping around, per one version of its history. After you've checked out the above (lots of posts in the archives here and in GEM, etc), get back to me email direct. If you'd rather not email direct, over and out. Bud
