Drove 500 miles to pick up a 252 oliver disc. I hook to my 1850, Tryed hyd, moved to feld next to my house, ran to house to get out of the Sat. rain. Sunday cows come down to the same field. All looked okay,so I went into the house.Abought one hour later my wife woke me up, SOMETHING IS COMING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY" When i got outside,The 1850 was jamed in my maple tree still runing, tires spining. New wood fence and gate flat. Bull watching from 100 feet, where tractor was.
All I can guess Luckey pushed it till it started. I was luckey that was all the damage done.Accidents will happen.

Bulls love to roll things around. That bull will think the tractor is his toy now.

Cardinal rule on old desiels ALWAYS park either out of gear with brakes locked OR just leave the kill pulled out on the fuel. You are so lucky something really did not get messed up.

Do you always leave the tractor parked in high gear?
I've got a hard time believing that the bull could push start it in any lower gear...
Better check yer starter solenoid/wires I think.
Electric fence hooked to the tractor will fix big nuts.

We have had trucks running in the shop in the morning that weren't running when we left. One wire is all it takes,I never park one in gear and I block the tires.

Always something new, Snake mowing the lawn yesterday,Bull starting the tractor today,
Tomorrow ????
Usually they chew all the electrical wires.

When my bull see's a round bale coming, he can't wait to play with it. He hates the hay ring !

I used to have a bull one time that would push anything just to see if he could move it. Nothing was safe around him. He shoved many a front end of my tractors around. Old rascal dented my pickup one time when I left it parked in the field checking on cows. Got up one morning to check on the hogs and noticed he had shoved two hog houses into the pond. 'Guess after the first one he thought it was fun, so he went for the second. Mineral feeders were his specialty to tear up. 'Last straw was when he decided to tear up the barn door. I tore him up with a 12 guage that time.

I too find this odd. I always leave the fuel shut off pulled on our deisels when I shut them down. Not any reason, just no sense in pushing it back in until you need it to run.

Ussually leave them out of gear, but sometimes I don't.

If you've ever smashed a shutoff knob off with your knees or had them freeze you'd push them in...
Tractors around here are all in gear too. If they're not, they roll away...
