PTO shaft question

I have a 6' trailer rotary mower that needs a new PTO shaft and I have a PTO shaft from a New Idea manure spreader available. They are the same length but I'm concerned that the one from the spreader may not handle the horsepower that the mower will need. Any thoughts? The spreader was a model 200, 95 bushel capacity, wooded sides and bottom.

What is the physical size of each of the shafts? I Think(?) in my old Dana drive line catalog it gives the torque capacity of the older PTO shafts. If your chopper is newer and has the foreign manufactures sizes, well I don't think I have a table for them.

What dimensions do you need? Yoke width, bearing diameter, tube diameters, etc. It's definitely not new and I don't believe it's an import.

Bearing cap diameter is a good place to start. Most likely .938 or 1.062. Distance across the flats will help as well. I also send you a P. M. I was going to pitch the catalog but will be happy to mail it to you as I have a couple left.
