Have any of you washed off mold and mildew that has accumulated on vinyl siding? If so what did you use to get if off or keep it from growing back?

Thanks, My wife has been after me to ask you folks so all I need now is a couple of answers and she'll be satisfied.

A pump up sprayer with bleach, light scrubing then rinse. Add a little car washing soap if you loke. Becareful dealing with bleach.

Usualy this happens on the north side of buildings more so than the South side. Less sunshine I guess is whats a goin on.

I've used a 50-50 mixture of water and Clorox bleach using a stiff bristle brush with good results.

Spray the same solution on as needed in future to keep it from growing back.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you to have HER wear gloves and SHE should also protect HER eyes from the mist. SHE probably has a long sleve shurt for HER to wear.

Make sure you hold the ladder steady for HER.

I have used a product called "Simple Green" Spray it on straight, and let stand a minute or so, scrub with a car wash brush, and wash the area again with a diluted form soaking the bigger area and rinse.

I've used bleach mixed in with water, some soap and have done very well. Hasn't come back either for some reason. North side, eh? I never paid attention until you said that. My nearest neighbor has it all over the north face of his house and has never taken it off. This year looks pretty bad cause has been building up over the years. Yep, its the north face of his house. Never thought about that until you said that.

Use TSP "trisodium phosphate".
Mix well,

1/2 cup Tide
1 Qt Clorox bleach
3 Qts Hot water
Spray on with a garden sprayer.
Allow to work and spray off.

I was a silent onwer of my now exwife vinyl siding business, this will happen if there is no insulation board or house wrap behind the siding, but I just wet it down spray it down with 50/50 mean green /water , then pressure wash it will come back in yr. so

i was once told by a reliable siding company that a yearly application of ag lime to your yard will stop the growth of mold on siding. it may take a couple of years to work but worth a try as lime is cheap. the worst that could happen is a pretty yard.

We wash our vinyl siding every year. We use a mixture of bleach, 401 and water in an old air up type fire extinguisher to wet the siding down. Let it set about 5 min then pressure wash with a siding wash soap. Then rinse.
