NAA 3 point lift

I have a 1954 Ford NAA. The 3 point lift will not lift, on the right hand side, while sitting on the tractor, there is a hole with a shaft sticking out slightly there are threads in the tractor body. My friend thinks I am missing a cap with a bearing inside of it that holds that shaft which affects the lift from working. Does anyone know what I am talking about or what I need?

Sounds like your system is low on oil, the pump needs to be primed and/or repaired AND you are missing the tach drive off of the back of the pump drive.

Sorry for sounding stupid, but It has oil and what is the tach drive

If you look at the threaded part you should see another piece threaded in there with a slot for a big screwdriver. That part is Hyd Lift back Valve assy (NAA 955E). You screw it in to put pressure from that valve/line to the internal cylinder. If is not tight or is missing the internal rubber o ring on the cylinder your 3 pt will not work. It is covered by a gasket and an accorn nut on the outside. Email if you need more info.

The picture helps. It sounded to me like you were missing the tach drive at the back of the pump, but the picture seems to show you are missing the blind nut that hold the hydraulic backpressure valve in place... Item # 32?

That's FAR out of may area of expertise. You'll find the NAA GURUS over at the Ford-specific Forum linked below.
