Hello I just purchased a Snapper LT12502 and I need to buy some replacement parts but I an unsure of the exact year of the tractor. I tried to find somewhere that will decode the serial number and even sent an email to Snapper, but no response. The person I bought it from was the original owner and thinks its either an 1986 or 1988. Does anyone know if the last 2 digits of the serial is the year of manufacture or can point me in the right direction? I am at work now and don"t have the serial number with me but I can post it later tonight. Just an FYI it is a 12.5hp Twin B&S I/C engine. Thanks for the help.

Look around the spark plug on engine for 3 sets of numbers. Type, Model and Code, the first 2 numbers in the code is the year of manufacture of the engine, if it is the original engine that is probably the year of your Snapper.
