Parts cleaning solution

First off, haven't had to buy any for a bit. Cleaned parts washer out and strained the old stuff, so good so far so went to get mineral spirts as it does a great job, what happened to the price, any where from 38-60 bucks for 5 gallon.

How about turpentine? Is that cheaper, or how about Paint thinner?

I'd just add a little kerosene with the solvent you have . flammable materials would be totally out although kerosene is combustible it would have less chance of igniting. by a spark. IE. welder,or grinder . broken bulb etc.

I had that suprise about a year ago or so. Needed 10 gallons and my favorite parts store only had one pail at $20+ dollars. Went to the other parts store for the next pail and it was $50+ dollars. I complained to the store manager so he looked it up and their cost was close to $50. Must have been the cost of petroleum? Store #2 must have just stocked a new supply at the high price.Jim

Back in the spring I got 10 gallons of naptha for about $2.60 gallon from my bulk fuel supplier. Take your own cans or barrel along to get it filled from their tank.
