Engine identification

Post a photo, or several; list any numbers cast or stamped into it; describe how many cylinders it is, where the peripherals such as carb, oil filter, starter, etc are located.

It's basicly the same size as a B,C,CA,RC, engine but it has a different ser.#AM2916-12, m30y. I.m guessing it could be from some sort of self powered impliment.

The 116 and 125 cubic engines were used in lots of non tractor applications, from amusement park rides, to generators, pumps, combine engines, numerous other applications. Best bet at ID'ing it would be a picture. The AM number is a casting number, serial would be hand stamped, usually somewhere on the block, If it were a D series unit it would be on the carb side, on the back edge of the motor, next to the torque tube of the tractor. I would recommend the chapter on power units in Norm Swinford's book, Allis-Chalmers Farm Equipment 1914-1985.
