Farmall F30

I am restoring a Farmall F-30 I am in the process of putting on foot petals when I took off the brake covers they are wet with oil, Is this right or is there a seal out? Any help? Thanks Dave

Dave,

I never had one apart on an F30 but I would think there would be seals. If you know someone who has a parts book on the F30 that would show you for sure.

I believe the seals are in the countershaft housing where the shaft comes out into the brake drum. I just had an F-20 rearend apart and it had packing behind the bearing. 3 bolts hold the bearing housing and shaft and all pull out of countershaft housing then 3 more bolts hold a thin metal plate which the packing is behind. F-30 should be similar.
