i have a perkins out of a army truck can a guy put a turbo on it if so what do you need thanks

You may be looking at more money than you want to spend. Most engines that I know of. Have a differant head and seals on the turbo version.

What model engine do you have? If it is a 6cyl 354 you should be able to find a manifold and turbo off of a 1130 or1135 Massey tractor the pistons and alot of parts will be different on a turboed engine but if you don't overload it it should last. M&W added turbos to alot of tractors and not all of them blew up.

I know a fella that put a turbo on a John Deere "A". All you need is a way to connect it to the exhaust, intake and oil systems.
HOW WELL it works may be another matter.
The A did pretty well considering!

i think it is a 354 but not shure yet have to more checking on it it is in a army 4 by 4 i want to put it into a 1 ton pickup will no get hard use like pulling hard thanks terry
