And you guys thought you had problems with big rats.
While I know the pictures did not come out well because it was getting dark; How would you like to see some rats like this in your yard.

Took these pictures at a place I was delivering to. Must of been 20 or 25 of them out there when I drove up.

For you northerners that do not know; These are Coypu ; aka Nutria Rats. They get to about 15 lbs with a 20" body and 15" tail.

Parris Hilton and other Hollywood socialites dress them things up and put diamond collars on them and call them pets! We call them moving target practice! Things sure do have different meaning depending on where you are from, huh?

I think those people eat about anything. There was a few living near where my brother raised cattle, and would ask my brother if they could have the after birth, when a cow calved. They are from the highlands of Vietnam, and are a good bunch of people. They helped the US a lot in the fight with the vietcong. stan

Your right stan,,, they are good people,,, if they arn't your enemy,,, I worked with some when they brought them in on the government work force to IBM, I got along good with them, they told me lots of war stories and how they lived, tough life for sure...

As I understand it, someone imported these things to make a killing in the fur industry. Like most exotics, they escaped and have caused thousands of $s in damage to marshes. The eat more and destroy the habitat for muskrats and mink, which are more valuable furbearers. I do enjoy a couple of fried muskrats.
