Went to check on the dry cow lot this morning and oh what a nice suprise. Two cows (dairy) calved, one had abit of an ugly heiffer calf and the other had a hell of a fancy calf.Tall, deep and lots of dairy strength. Was milking when the hired help arrived and told him the good news.He went out to check for himself and when he came back he said there were back legs hanging out of the Allen cow (the one that had the nice one).Went out to pull it out and sure enough,a !@#$%^^ bull to go with it.Oh well, all over but the crying lol.

Wouldn't be a bad morning for me, two out three and all animals {mothers & young]ok sounds good .
Can't have the world where Nature is involved.

You got a what....5%-10% chance that it's okay, correct? I know, not very good odds.

Guess I should have been abit more specific lol,Allen cow actually refers to a daughter of a bull named Allen.

That's about it.You take 10 of them, can have them checked at 12 months of age,so end up spending 15 000 on the 10,one or none turnes out to be ok,so beef 10 or 9 of them for 3000 or 2700 and loose either 12 000,or 9450 on the lot.Better to beef them at a week for 20 bucks and lessen the loss.
