Just heard that scrap prices are going back up . Has anyone took anything in last week or so ?

I suppose they SHOULD, now that the cost of fuel to haul it in is going up!

I expect that $crap price$ would drop, with all the clunker$ being turned in. Time will tell.

Called on iron prices Friday [Georgia] they quoted $7.00 a hundred .
Buddy has a auto parts yard,he told me he was offered $8.50 a hundred for some cars a few weeks ago.
I hauled a little Friday,almost got sick looking at the cash-for clunkers that they had,but had not worked up yet.

It's $90/ton in SW Ontario. Was $50 for a whle after it dropped from $150 .

Two weeks ago was $45 ton unprepared stuff, was $30 before.

Hauled in some scrap today. got $18 for it. The same load a month ago would have brought 9 or 10 Dollars. another yard is paying $7.50 for clean tin--$7.00 for dirty tin. This on Neville Island, in the Ohio river, down from Pittsburgh, PA.
Lady at the scale house sez the prices have been going up some.
I hauled a pickup load a month ago, and she asked me if i thought the nine dollars was going to keep me in gasoline for a while. I said i might make it home. (5 miles)
